An introduction to the family as a dynamic system focusing on the effects of addiction pertaining to family roles, rules, and behavior patterns. Discuss the impact of mood altering substances and behaviors and therapeutic alternatives as they relate to the family from a multicultural and transgenerational perspective. This course practices the ways in which spoken English differs from written with emphasis on the strategies English speakers use to make their message very clear for listeners. Time is spent learning how English sounds that tend to challenge non-native speakers are produced, and how native speakers produce the characteristic rhythm and intonation patterns of the language. To register for Advanced American Pronunciation (COMX 4009) you must have a passing grade of C or higher in Oral Communication 2 (COMX 4002) or placement into Oral Communication 3 (COMX 4003) or higher on the ESOL assessment test.
Meets the curriculum requirements of the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) for Fire Instructor III certification. Combined with credit FIRT-2359.
Blockchain Fundamentals

This course provides a foundation in a practical knowledge of blockchain. Beginning with an understanding of blockchain technology and its intended purpose, the course progresses into blockchain architecture. You will review the enterprise implementation and practical use of blockchain, such as in banking, healthcare and government applications. Throughout the course, you will also learn how blockchain evolved from its beginnings with cryptocurrencies and the role it plays in the trading, distribution, and other transactions that occur with cryptocurrency.
Calling all singing actors who move (but-please-don’t-make-me-do-the-dance-audition)! This class will help get both of your left feet moving in the right direction on the foundation of basic steps used frequently in musicals. You will learn to combine the steps into combinations to help you move with fluidity and greater confidence. You’ll be armed with several strategies for memorizing combinations and for coordinating song, character choices, rhythm, and movement. In six weeks you’ll feel ready to take those steps you’ve learned and say “heck yes” to that next dance call.
General discussion of pathologies as they relate to massage therapy. Includes universal precautions and their management in professional practice. Also covers etiology, signs, symptoms, and the physiological and psychological reactions to disease and injury. Meets the minimum 40-contact-hour requirement for licensure for Massage.
