This is part 1 of a fast paced course that will prepare novice Linux users to pass the LPIC-1 certification exams from Linux Professional Institute or Linux+ certification exams from CompTIA. Through lecture, demonstration, and hands on practice you will learn essential Linux system administration skills to advance your IT career and prove your Linux knowledge with a technical certification recognized throughout the industry. The course is taught by an instructor with more than 20 years of Linux experience. Course tuition does not include the required books. Each class requires a book. The books for these courses are purchased separately from the Highland Campus bookstore, 512-474-2607. Additional study materials may be provided by the instructor. Suggested prerequisite is basic knowledge of computers and at least 3 months of hobbyist experience with Linux is required. Completion of ITSC-1091 or similar is recommended but not required.
