Robert T. Futrell
Bob Futrell, PMP, is a Senior Project Manager, instructor, and consultant at Project Management Systems in Georgetown, TX. Through Cooper Consulting in Austin, Texas, he led the implementation of the Election Division's TEAM (Texas Elections Administration Management) System for the Texas Secretary of State. He has also been a principle instructor in the Software Project Management Certificate Program of the Software Quality Institute at the University of Texas at Austin since 1993. He has worked as project manager for a large data warehouse project supporting AMD's Dresden Germany Fab36, a senior project manager and program controller at MOS-11, one of Motorola's Austin semiconductor operations, and served as a project management master and as a Quality examiner for performance excellence in Motorola.
During a 15-year career at Texas Instruments, he managed the Operating Systems Development and Knowledge Engineering Services groups in Austin. Bob has more than 25 years experience in the computer industry, with 15 years of software development and management experience, and five years of quality management experience. He has served as a Performance Excellence examiner using the Malcolm Baldrige award criteria at the state and local levels. His latest publication from Prentice Hall (with co-authors Linda and Don Shafer) is Quality Software Project Management, a 1600 page textbook being distributed in the U.S., India, Russia, and China.
