This introductory course in improvisation will investigate spontaneous problem solving as a means of generating movement for dance composition. Students will be called upon to explore and respond to various forms of stimuli in a safe and supportive learning environment within solo and group work. Integrated with credit DANC-1201. Teaching English As a Second Language And Bilingual...
This course is designed to prepare teachers to instruct learners whose primary language is other than English. The course emphasizes language concepts and best instructional practices for facilitating English language proficiency. Instructional techniques for both literacy and oral language development focus on social and academic language skills. In addition, the course prepares the candidates for managing the ESL program, ESL classroom, working with families, and drawing upon community resources.
MATX-0101 is a short course offered through the Continuing Education department, staffed by ACC math instructors. Math Launch is a low cost opportunity for students to review and refresh previously learned math topics, and to reassess with the chance of improving their initial developmental math placement. By reviewing key skills before reassessing, students may be able to improve their developmental math placement by 1 or 2 levels!

The advanced techniques students will learn include designing a larger stained glass panel, lead came techniques of making a stained glass panel, reinforcing larger stained glass panes, framing and hanging a larger stained glass panel, and how to accurately measure for a stained glass window home installation.
Special skills and techniques in the application of counseling skills for the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) client. Development and utilization of advanced treatment planning and management. Includes review of confidentiality and ethical issues. Integrated with college credit DAAC 2341.

Introduction to scripting languages including the use of basic data types, control structures, regular expressions, input/output, and textual analysis. Covers basic JavaScript scripting features: code placement, events and event handlers, methods, functions and parameters, attributes, JavaScript objects, and underlying it all, the document object model. Work with variables, operators, if/then/else control structures, loops, and arrays. Suggested prerequisites: Introduction to Programming Languages or prior programming experience; good knowledge of HTML coding or completion of Intermediate World Wide Web Authoring, HTML, and CSS.
General Botany for Landscape Design & Horticulture
An introduction to basic botany as it directly relates to horticulture and landscaping. This course will cover the fundamentals of plant biology, plant growth, plant development, plant anatomy, photosynthesis, respiration/transpiration, and a range of factors that can affect plant development in a cultivated environment.
*This class is taught asynchronously, which means there are no set meeting times and the students are able to complete the lessons and activities at their own pace through Blackboard. However, live sessions will be held as needed. The information will be posted to Blackboard Announcements.
