STEPS Getting Ready for College

Course Description

Students will create personal goals in the areas of independent living, employment, post-secondary education, and recreation and leisure activities. They will receive instruction on money, problem solving, creating new routines, and social rules. Students will get hands on learning on off-campus classes at a laundromat and a grocery store. This course is geared towards supporting students with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are getting ready for college. Students learn how to set up their ACCid's and passwords, use their Gmail, learn how to read a syllabus and gain stress management skills. Students develop self-advocacy skills to use in any classroom.
