Japanese Fine Arts: Haiku, Origami, Calligraphy, and...

Course Description
This is a course on Japanese fine arts offered by the Continuing Education division at ACC. No knowledge of the Japanese language is required. The course is designed to introduce students to Japanese culture by way of its most important art forms. Students explore reading/writing haiku poems, folding origami, learning some kanji (Chinese characters), practicing calligraphy using those kanji and learning about and playing the Taiko drum in order to expand an appreciation of Japanese culture and language.

A+ Certification is a CompTIA-sponsored testing program that certifies the competency of entry-level (6 months experience) computer service technicians. Major computer hardware and software vendors, distributors, resellers and publications back the program. A+ certification signifies that the certified individual possesses the knowledge and skills essential for a successful entry-level (6 months experience) computer service technician, as defined by experts from companies across the industry. The A+ Training course at Austin Community College is a 128-hour Two Part program including lecture, labs, and exam preparation. The course will prepare students for the CompTIA A+ Practical Applications certification examination. Suggested prerequisites: CPMT 2045 A+ Essentials or equivalent experience. Acting Fundamentals

This playful approach to the actor's craft is conducive to the beginner. This class allows individuals to experience living in the imaginary world of a character and a story while expanding their self-expression and emotional life. Students will learn how to investigate a script and explore their intuition through games, exercises, and scenes from film or stage. The class is designed to be taken more than once, as it is different in meaningful ways each time — ever-changing with the instructor, fellow students, and the material chosen for the class. Pediatric Preparations

Course Description
This course combines a two-day live workshop, along with pre-course reading, and significant online/distance learning (DIL) coursework, and a proctored, written examination, to train pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in sterile compounding related to pediatric preparations. All course activities are designed to be completed within a 12-week semester. The two-day, hands-on workshop is held in our state-of-the-art training facility in Austin, Texas. All other coursework is completed online using our Blackboard Learning Management System. Hands-on training includes: pediatric calculations, pediatric LVP, EEC, and syringe preparations, other neonatal and/or pediatric CSPs. The total estimated time required to complete this course is 40 hours (live workshop combined with home-study); may be spread out over 2-weeks up to one-semester, depending on course section.
