This is an intermediate class focusing on acting for the camera. It is required that you have had at least a basic acting class before joining - such as Acting Fundamentals or equivalent. The emphasis is on camera technique as well as developing a naturalistic acting style through connection, honesty, vulnerability, and following intuitive impulses. The students’ work will be explored through exercises and scene study from film and television scripts. Some videotaping and playback will be used for critique.
Survey of the world of fashion businesses. Introduction to the creation and merchandising of fashion through the study of fashion vocabulary, the fashion process, fashion publications, and career opportunities. This is an online class. The fundamentals of pickleball strokes, forehand, backhand, serve and volley as well as game scoring, positioning, and etiquette for the beginning player with an emphasis on lifetime activity. Instruction in the techniques used to analyze the fashion image of individual clients. Emphasis on personal coloring, seasonal color harmonies, appropriate fabric textures, body proportion and silhouette, figure, facial and hair analysis, and wardrobe coordination. Find out how to engage students to become more active learners, whether in a face-to-face or distance education course. This course examines evidence-based teaching practices that engage students and deepen student's understanding of course material. Topics covered include the impact of adult learning on curricular design, using active learning strategies in the classroom, collaborative learning approaches, and interactive lectures. Participants will reflect on and share with colleagues' suggestions for creating small changes in their teaching practices to increase students' learning.
Provides general preparation for instructional aides by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Day 1 covers Working Together Successfully; Day 2 covers Learning Styles and Instructional Process; and Day 3 covers Reading, Writing, and Math. Assessments are performance-based and take place throughout the course. Successful participants may earn a Paraeducator Statement of Completion for employment. Sack Lunch requested. STUDENTS MUST ATTEND ALL THREE DAYS, must meet qualifications, complete class independently, and pass all the requirements. Students who are not "highly qualified" will earn a Professional Development Statement of Completion.
