Survey of veterinary medicine, including veterinary-related careers, safety in the Veterinary workplace, the human-companion animal bond, animal restraint, client relations, and basic medical terminology. This online course is a prerequisite to entering the Veterinary Clinical Assistant program. The student program application process must be completed in full before students may register for Semester I courses.
Introduction to the manual graphic techniques of Landscape Design. This is a hand drafting course. Drafting techniques and freehand sketching will be covered including plan, elevation/section, perspective drawing, scale, landscape symbols, and rendering techniques.
Study of plants in landscape design and their structural, environmental, and aesthetic uses. Garden styles and techniques as well as the development of planting plans will be covered. The instructor will provide a syllabus on the first day of class which will include book and/or supply info at approximate cost of $50. Recommended prerequisite: HALT 1072 Introduction to Landscape Graphics.
An online course offering complete understanding of using two different measuring systems in medical practice to determine converting one system to the other, dosages in multiple dosage forms, dosages based on weight and routes of administration. The course will include workforce applicable calculations of flow rates for intravenous administration. This course will allow practicing health care professionals a review and also an avenue of students to receive credit for dosage calculations when taking a 3 credit hour pharmacology course at another institution. NOTE: Mandatory final exam schedule last day in testing center.
Aikido is a no punch, no kick art of self-defense. Using Aikido's throwing and pinning arts properly, an attack can be neutralized without inflicting serious injury. At its higher levels, it is an effective discipline for the development, integration, and utilization of all human powers-physical, mental and spiritual. The capstone is designed to pull all aspects of the program classwork together into one portfolio and final micro teach. In addition, the course will address Mental Health First Aide, resume construction, interviewing, school district structure, and parent conferencing.
This course is a continuation of Spanish I designed to increase your conversational skills in the Spanish language. Emphasis on improving pronunciation and vocabulary range through participation and dialogue to affect business and personal communication needs.
