Advanced concepts in electronic spreadsheets. Topics address macro programming features, database functions, merging/linking spreadsheets, data file transfer, and Boolean functions. Also includes using templates, importing data, and designing macros. Suggested prerequisites: Excel Intermediate or equivalent experience.
Skill development in the performance of a variety of blood collection methods using proper techniques and standard precautions. Includes vacuum collection devices, syringes, capillary skin puncture, butterfly needles and blood culture, and specimen collection on adults, children, and infants. Emphasis on infection prevention, patient identification, specimen labeling, quality assurance, specimen handling, processing, accessioning, professionalism, ethics, and medical terminology. Combined with college credit PLAB-1323.
This is a 16 hour course consisting of an online introduction, classroom lecture, and range training. Skills covered will include: firearm and range safety protocols, pistol nomenclature, loading and unloading, grip, stance, trigger manipulation, and firearms storage and cleaning. By completion of the course students will have a basic understanding of the fundamentals of marksmanship and be able to safely and proficiently handle a pistol with confidence. No prerequisite required. Pistol and ammunition are provided. This class consists of 4 hours online training , 4 hours classroom and 8 hours of range.
The use of accepted hydrotherapy and holistic modalities of external application of temperature for its reflexive effect. Meets the minimum 20-contact-hour requirement for licensure for Massage. Students receive hands-on training in skills and knowledge needed to perform techniques and SPA skills with the use of varying thermal applications. Students are introduced to aromatherapy, reflexology, paraffin, body wrap treatments and hydro/cryotherapy. Each student performs hands-on applications and select spa techniques in lab. Online HIPAA training and completed program application are required.
A continuation of practices and techniques used in basic computer-aided drafting emphasizing advanced dimensioning techniques, the development and use of prototype drawings, construction of pictorial drawings, construction of three dimensional drawings, interfacing 2D and 3D environments and extracting data.
Safety principles and skills which will enable students to avoid and/or minimize violence will be taught. A study of guided and sequential experiences for developing aerobic based group exercise leadership skills. Opportunities provided for students to practice these skills under a professional mentor in a group setting. Integrated with college credit FITT 2331. The following course is integrated with the Exercise Science program. This course is designed to offer instruction for individuals interested in entering the workforce as a fitness professional and can be used in pursuit of the Fitness Specialist and Personal Fitness Trainer certificates or assist in preparing for national certification as a Personal Fitness Trainer.
