| Describes the architecture, components, and operations of routers and switches in small networks and introduces wireless local area networks (WLAN) and security concepts. Provides an in-depth understanding of how routers and switches operate and are implemented in the LAN environment. Students learn key switching and routing concepts. They can perform basic network configuration and troubleshooting, identify and mitigate LAN security threats, and configure and secure a basic WLAN. Suggested prerequisite: Introduction to Networks course or equivalent level of knowledge. The instructor will provide information on required books the first day of class. | |
