Basic Extemporaneous Compounding (non-Sterile)

Course Description
This course combines a two-day, live workshop, along with online activities designed to train pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in basic, non-sterile, extemporaneous compounding procedures. Hands-on training includes: capsule preparation, ointments, creams, trochees, suppositories, use of mortar and pestle, digital scale, graduated cylinders, hotplate, ointment mill, and other compounding equipment. CPE activity completers will receive a frame-able certificate of completion, ACPE statement of credit, and ACPE credit upload into CPE monitor for 3.0 CEUs (30.0 hours). This is a Practice-Based activity. This is a non-sterile compounding certification course. Prerequisites: Must be a certified (PTCB) Pharmacy Technician; or registered Pharmacist/ registered pharmacy technician/pharmacy technician trainee; or have completed an ASHP/ACPE Accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program; or have a minimum of two years of pharmacy experience. Fashion Illustration Media provides students with skill development in fashion technical drawing with emphasis on fashion details and applications. This class provides instruction in illustrating a wide variety of clothing in various media with an emphasis on computer-aided techniques. The class will accommodate all levels of skill from beginner to advance illustrators to help them achieve a professional level of fashion technical drawing for their portfolio. Dental Science

Course Description
An introduction to anatomical systems with emphasis placed on head and neck anatomy. The supporting oral structures, embryology of the teeth, and tooth nomenclature are covered. Topics include the physiology and morphology of the deciduous and the permanent teeth along with basic dental terminology. This is the first course in the Dental Assisting Program. Admission to the Dental Assisting Program is required for registration.
Pediatric Preparations

Course Description
This course combines a two-day live workshop, along with pre-course reading, and significant online/distance learning (DIL) coursework, and a proctored, written examination, to train pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in sterile compounding related to pediatric preparations. All course activities are designed to be completed within a 12-week semester. The two-day, hands-on workshop is held in our state-of-the-art training facility in Austin, Texas. All other coursework is completed online using our Blackboard Learning Management System. Hands-on training includes: pediatric calculations, pediatric LVP, EEC, and syringe preparations, other neonatal and/or pediatric CSPs. The total estimated time required to complete this course is 40 hours (live workshop combined with home-study); may be spread out over 2-weeks up to one-semester, depending on course section. Web Authoring: CSS Advanced

This class extends CSS positioning used on web pages, essentially eliminating the need for tables based layouts.
