Course Description
Analyze data using Excel, an essential foundation for the interdisciplinary field of Data Analytics. Analyzing data through knowledge of mean, median, mode, average, sum, macros, and pivot tables, while solidifying predictions to influence business data is the building blocks to this course. Suggested prerequisites: Excel Intermediate or equivalent knowledge. Required material: Microsoft Excel 2013 or higher.
Sewing Fundamentals I

Course Description
Sewing fundamental emphasizes the development of basic sewing skills used to create apparel. This course focuses on patterns, fabric selection, basic construction techniques, pressing skills, and timesaving technologies and techniques. Learn how to use your sewing machine. Small projects will be discussed in class. Students must bring sewing machine, tape measure, scissors, and pins.

Exploration of procedures to identify and evaluate an individual's and/or family's strengths, weaknesses, problems, and needs in order to develop an effective plan of action. Topics include oral and written communications essential for screening, assessment, and case management to determine the need for prevention, intervention, and/or referral. Integrated with credit SCWK-2301.
Planting Design

Course Description
Study of plants in landscape design and their structural, environmental, and aesthetic uses. Garden styles and techniques as well as the development of planting plans will be covered. Instructor will provide a syllabus on the first day of class which will include book and/or supply info at approximate cost of $50. Introduction to Illustration

Course Description
In this beginning course, students will learn how to create illustrations for ideas. Techniques using pencil, color pencil, markers, watercolor and pen and ink will be explored. Loose gestural techniques and more complex drawings will be developed. Text and image will be balanced. Journaling with images will be practiced and developed for various outcomes. Color use for communicating ideas will be studied.
Advanced American Pronunciation

Course Description
This course practices the ways in which spoken English differs from written with emphasis on the strategies English speakers use to make their message very clear for listeners. Time is spent learning how English sounds that tend to challenge non-native speakers are produced, and how native speakers produce the characteristic rhythm and intonation patterns of the language. To register for Advanced American Pronunciation (COMX 4009) you must have a passing grade of C or higher in Oral Communication 2 (COMX 4002) or placement into Oral Communication 3 (COMX 4003) or higher on the ESOL assessment test.
Basics of Musical Theatre Dance

Course Description
Calling all singing actors who move (but-please-don’t-make-me-do-the-dance-audition)! This class will help get both of your left feet moving in the right direction on the foundation of basic steps used frequently in musicals. You will learn to combine the steps into combinations to help you move with fluidity and greater confidence. You’ll be armed with several strategies for memorizing combinations and for coordinating song, character choices, rhythm, and movement. In six weeks you’ll feel ready to take those steps you’ve learned and say “heck yes” to that next dance call.
