Course Description
This course focuses on developing skills to interpret between healthcare providers and their limited English proficient patients. Topics include patient interviewing skills, anatomy, physiology, diagnostics, procedures and diseases of the principal body systems and intensive practice of consecutive interpreting skills as used in medical settings. Students must be fluent in English and a foreign language. The course “Basic Interpreting Skills-Community Interpreting” is a pre-requisite for this course.
