Course Description
This course combines a two-day, live workshop, along with online activities designed to train pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in basic, non-sterile, extemporaneous compounding procedures. Hands-on training includes: capsule preparation, ointments, creams, trochees, suppositories, use of mortar and pestle, digital scale, graduated cylinders, hotplate, ointment mill, and other compounding equipment. CPE activity completers will receive a frame-able certificate of completion, ACPE statement of credit, and ACPE credit upload into CPE monitor for 3.0 CEUs (30.0 hours). This is a Practice-Based activity. This is a non-sterile compounding certification course. Prerequisites: Must be a certified (PTCB) Pharmacy Technician; or registered Pharmacist/ registered pharmacy technician/pharmacy technician trainee; or have completed an ASHP/ACPE Accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program; or have a minimum of two years of pharmacy experience.
