Introduction to word processing terminology, editing functions, formatting, and special text options. Create, edit, and print documents such as letters or reports using Microsoft Word. The course covers text, paragraph, and page formatting, spell checking, copying, pasting, and printing. Prerequisites: Familiarity with the PC.
Please add course description: “Fun French in context” focuses on speaking French, and being able to function in common situations. It builds on the students’ previous knowledge of French and aims at giving them confidence by doing intensive practice in class. Examples of the subjects include expressing a personal opinion and participating in making choices; using current expressions to participate in daily activities with French speakers; and many more. At the end of the course, students will be able to speak in the three main tenses (présent; futur; passé composé) with ease and using current expressions and correct pronunciation. A few sprinkles of grammar when needed, and a dollop of culture are part of the class.
Required: Some French language experience.
An introduction to computer-aided drafting. Emphasis is placed on setup; creating and modifying geometry; storing and retrieving predefined shapes; placing, rotating, and scaling objects, adding text and dimensions, using layers, coordinate systems, and plot/print to scale.
Fashion Illustration Media provides students with skill development in fashion technical drawing with emphasis on fashion details and applications. This class provides instruction in illustrating a wide variety of clothing in various media with an emphasis on computer-aided techniques. The class will accommodate all levels of skill from beginner to advance illustrators to help them achieve a professional level of fashion technical drawing for their portfolio. Integrated with credit FSHD-1346.
This course is an examination of the principles of movement generation, phrasing, choreographic structure and motif manipulation. Integration of choreographic principles will foster the growth of personal artistic style. Integrated with credit DANC-1301. Analyze data using Excel, an essential foundation for the interdisciplinary field of Data Analytics. Analyzing data through knowledge of mean, median, mode, average, sum, macros, and pivot tables, while solidifying predictions to influence business data is the building blocks to this course. Suggested prerequisites: Excel Intermediate or equivalent knowledge. Required material: Microsoft Excel 2013 or higher.
Concepts and skills of leadership in the work setting. Introduces leadership and motivational theories and leadership styles. Includes evaluation of leadership performance. Explore how leaders use power and influence to achieve organizational commitment and effectiveness. Discuss topics of organizational culture, business ethics, and effective goal setting and planning. Identify case studies about the global economy and current events for developing personal leadership skills.
