Course Description

In-depth coverage of skills, foundations, legal issues, and professional requirements provides fundamentals necessary for teaching in Texas. Modules include: Planning for Learner-Centered Instruction; Creating Learning Environments and Behavior Modification; Instruction, Communication, and Assessment; Professional Development; Employment; and Online Technology Applications. Students will demonstrate necessary skills, observe in local schools, prepare for state certification exam, and give teaching demonstrations. Textbooks required and bought by students. Program Acceptance required. General Methods-Preparation for the PPR, first days of school. 150 contact hours (30 hrs. observations)
