Course Description
(Human Relations/Patient Education, CPR, and First Aid are included). Medical office procedures including appointment scheduling, records creation and maintenance, phone, finances, coding, billing, collecting, third party reimbursement, and computer usage. Students will demonstrate accurate and efficient scheduling of patient appointments; create, document, and maintain patient medical records; correlate accurate coding, billing, collecting, and filing of procedures; perform financial processes; and use the computer for basic office functions.
Clinical - Dental Assistant

Course Description
Basic non-paid work-based instruction that helps students synthesize new knowledge, apply previous knowledge, or gain experience managing the workflow. Practical experience is simultaneously related to theory. Close and/or direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional (instructor), generally in a clinical setting. Current admission to the Dental Assisting Program is required for registration.
Nurse Aide for Health Care Organizations

Course Description
Preparation for entry level nursing assistants to achieve a level of knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to provide basic care to residents of long-term care facilities. Topics include resident's rights, communication, safety, observation, reporting and assisting residents in maintaining basic comfort and safety. Emphasis on effective interaction with members of the health care team. Must register for and complete NURA 1060 prior to applying to take registry exam.

In this course, students will review basic verb tenses, proceed to intermediate structures, emphasizing communicative use in academic and non-academic contests. Integrated with credit ESOL-0396.
Coding and Classification Systems

Course Description
Application of basic coding rules, principles, guidelines, and conventions. Health Information Coding Specialists apply ICD-9-CM, ICD10-CM and CPT-4 codes used in the reporting and billing of medical services and procedures. Most specialists will be employed in hospitals, but job growth will be faster in offices and clinics of physicians, nursing homes and home health agencies. Prerequisite: HITT 1013.
Creative Acrylic Painting Studio for Beginners

Course Description
In this introductory course, students will learn the fundamentals of using acrylic paint to produce various styles. Students will begin with monochromatic color schemes and progress to full color. Color mixing and various thicknesses of paint will be explored from thin washes to thick impasto techniques. A focus on composition, manipulation of space and capturing the likeness of objects will be studied. Students will become familiar with the materials and experiment with the flexibility of acrylic paint that can represent detailed traditional paintings as well as expressive, calligraphic, and translucent compositions.
Introduction to Travel and Tourism

Course Description
This class is an overview of the travel and tourism industry. With emphasis on travel careers and impact on society. This comprehensive course aims to equip students with soft skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the global travel and tourism industry. The course provides an overview of the industry, covering topics such as the history and development of tourism, the impact of globalization and technology on the industry, and the different types of tourism (e.g. cultural, adventure, eco-tourism). Students will also learn about the key sectors of the industry, including airlines, hotels, cruises, tour operators, and travel agencies, as well as the various aspects of destination management, including marketing, planning, and operations. Through case studies and practical exercises, students will gain hands-on experience in analyzing market trends, developing marketing campaigns, and planning tourism experiences.
