A survey of dances from different cultures, their histories, and their influences on contemporary dance and society. Cultural origins, significance, motivations and techniques will be explored experientially. No previous dance experience necessary. Integrated with credit DANC-1305. A physical conditioning course that emphasizes cardiovascular fitness through your choice of walking, jogging, or a combination of both. Students will not be required to run. Correct techniques in striding and form will be introduced in addition to discussion of the benefits of aerobic exercise, nutrition, weight management, and associated topics. An introduction to Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Concepts, principles, development, and application of IPM. Examine insect life cycles, entomology, and ecological interactions of insects and plants. IPM constitutes a series of pest control tactics and strategies toward more sustainable agriculture, natural resources, and urban and rural health and well-being. Combined with credit AGCR-1393.
Computer applications specific to business-related software. Emphasizes the concurrent development of office skills and computer knowledge. This skill development specifically includes MS Windows and Outlook. This course covers the required skill sets on the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) specialist-level exam for Outlook. Formerly known as POFI 1204 Computer Fundamentals: MS Windows/Outlook.

Suggested prerequisites: POFT 1070 Administrative Assistant
This is an intermediate class focusing on acting for the camera. It is required that you have had at least a basic acting class before joining - such as Acting Fundamentals or equivalent. The emphasis is on camera technique as well as developing a naturalistic acting style through connection, honesty, vulnerability, and following intuitive impulses. The students’ work will be explored through exercises and scene study from film and television scripts. Some videotaping and playback will be used for critique.
SQL Database Essentials

Learn to use SQL quickly and effectively. You will learn to read and write complex queries to a database using some of the most in-demand skills PostgreSQL and PgAdmin. These skills are also applicable to any other major SQL database, such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Amazon Redshift, Oracle, and many more. Suggested prerequisites: middle school math. Required software: MySQL; link to free download will be provided by the instructor.
