A study of three-dimensional fashion design conceptualizing by draping in muslin or fashion fabric directly on the dress form. Skill development in observing grain of fabric, identifying drapable fabrics and creating designs suitable for draping. Presentation of major fashion designers and draping techniques. Learn why you are at risk and what you can do to protect your personal and business data from the outside world. This course will bring you up to speed on the fundamentals of PC and network security. You will understand and explore the vulnerability of operating systems, software, and networks; you will find out why, where and how viruses, worms, and blended threats are created; you will learn a safe way to handle files and data across the internet through a virtual private network. Suggested prerequisite: A familiarity with general computing terminology, an understanding of any operating system you are using (Mac, Windows, or Linux) and an ability to locate programs and change settings.
This course is an examination of the principles of movement generation, phrasing, choreographic structure and motif manipulation. Integration of choreographic principles will foster the growth of personal artistic style. Integrated with credit DANC-1301. Japanese Fine Arts: Haiku, Origami, Calligraphy, and...
This is a course on Japanese fine arts offered by the Continuing Education division at ACC. No knowledge of the Japanese language is required. The course is designed to introduce students to Japanese culture by way of its most important art forms. Students explore reading/writing haiku poems, folding origami, learning some kanji (Chinese characters), practicing calligraphy using those kanji and learning about and playing the Taiko drum in order to expand an appreciation of Japanese culture and language.
Taught by a native speaker, experience a new language and culture for travel and personal enrichment. Learn to communicate with basic conversations. This course will help students develop better listening to real conversations, practice in speaking, and focus on correct pronunciation. Course for beginners. No prerequisite.
