This class is a continuation of Guitar I. Topics will include: minor chords, strumming technique and basic music theory. This is a good opportunity to explore the guitar in a friendly, low stress environment. A guitar and pick are required; acoustic or classical guitars preferred but electric guitars are acceptable.
Exploration of theories, techniques, and processes of public relations including means of influencing methods of building good will, analysis of media, obtaining publicity, and implementation of public relations programs.
Examination of the various stages of the group work treatment process with emphasis on roles, tasks, and potential problem areas. Topics include mechanics of group function, structure of groups, communication patterns within groups, effective group facilitation skills, and techniques used to address special population issues and needs. A study of the components of weight control, smoking cessation, stress management, and other current trends. Topics include techniques in behavior modification, motivation, teaching, and counseling. Integrated with college credit FITT 2301. The following course is integrated with the Exercise Science program. This course is designed to offer instruction for individuals interested in entering the workforce as a fitness professional and can be used in pursuit of the Fitness Specialist and Personal Fitness Trainer certificates or assist in preparing for national certification as a Personal Fitness Trainer. Study of plants in landscape design and their structural, environmental, and aesthetic uses. Garden styles and techniques as well as the development of planting plans will be covered. The instructor will provide a syllabus on the first day of class which will include book and/or supply info at approximate cost of $50. Recommended prerequisite: HALT 1072 Introduction to Landscape Graphics.
This course prepares the teacher candidate to identify and use resources available for planning, and designing interactive TEKS-based lessons with an emphasis on specific content methodology. In addition, the course addresses assessment of the child’s learning and communicating of the child’s progress to parents. Each candidate will plan and teach three micro teaches which will be critiqued.
