Introduction to the use of computer techniques for preparing landscape design renderings. Learn the various computer drawing tools, coloring techniques and inserting text. Several class projects for developing master plans and plant Libraries. Prerequisites: Intro. to Landscape Graphics HALT 1072 and Landscape Design HALT 1071. Instructor will provide a syllabus on the first day of class which will include book and/or supply info at an approximate cost of $50-$100.
A physical conditioning course that emphasizes cardiovascular fitness through your choice of walking, jogging, or a combination of both. Students will not be required to run. Correct techniques in striding and form will be introduced in addition to discussion of the benefits of aerobic exercise, nutrition, weight management, and associated topics. Students will learn to use community resources to analyze personal career interests, values, skills and aptitudes, surveying and researching jobs with related educational requirements. Students will explore a variety of career options plus use the steps in the decision-making process to develop their own career plan. Students will volunteer in many career or job choices. This course is geared toward supporting students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Instruction in the identification and use of native plant species of the Edwards Plateau and Llano Uplift. Basic plant knowledge is helpful, but not required. Much of the class will take place on field study trips for plant identification purposes.
This class is for students with professional experience and/or previous film acting training. Tony Sears focuses on achieving an honest and vulnerable performance for the camera. The emphasis is on energy and making choices that highlight the actor’s power to tell a story. Students will explore the work through scene study from film and television scripts with some videotaping and playback for evaluation. Suggested prerequisite: Two or more beginning acting classes, Acting Explorations, or other previous acting training/experience. Materials needed: internet connection & audio/video capability with computer or tablet; updated (free) Zoom account.

CompTIA Security+ Exam 601 provides a basic overview of security concepts/techniques/technologies, risk analysis/management, disaster recovery, security plans, and incident recovery, and gives a firm foundation for more advanced security certifications/roles. Course material is targeted toward an Information Technology (IT) professional who has networking and administrative skills in TCP/IP networks and familiarity with a networkable operating system (such as NetWare, UNIX/Linux, or Microsoft). This course enables students to begin or further a career in Cybersecurity by acquiring a foundational knowledge of security topics; prepare for the CompTIA Security+ Certification examination; or use Security+ as the foundation for advanced security certifications or career roles. There is a primary textbook which will be required. Suggested prerequisites: one to three years IT experience, CompTIA A+ or Network+ certifications, or equivalent knowledge. This is an ONLINE course requiring a stable internet connection, and a current browser (e.g., Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, etc.). Audio is provided via computer or telephone line (a dial-in phone number will be available as an alternate audio connection). A computer camera option is preferred.
