Introduction to Laban Movement Analysis is a LABAN/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies endorsed introductory course. After successful completion of this course, students will receive a certification through LIMS. Introduction to the major themes of Laban Movement Analysis, through theoretical and experiential hands-on work. This course will be taught in person. Instructor email is ellen.bartel@austincc.edu. Floral Design IV: Business Principles and Sympathy

This course introduces two important accents used for stage, film, television, and video games. In the Fall the offering is American Southern and Australian. Through Knight-Thompson Speechwork, a new standard-bearing approach to speech, students will acquire the skills to convincingly perform these accents. Areas of focus include developing the oral posture, learning how to create the unique pronunciations, and analyzing the “music” (rhythm, tempo, and intonation) of the accent. Studies include native speakers of these accents, and dialogue from stage and screen scripts will be utilized to apply the work. This course is for actors with and without speech training and for people who simply would enjoy learning two interesting accents.
Instruction in the intermediate techniques and concepts associated with ballet. This is a ballet technique class. Prerequisites: BSKX-5041 or DANC-1241 or instructor approval. This course is meant for everyone who wants to use Python for analyzing data and/or data science, whether they are veteran Python users, experienced programmers, statisticians, or looking to take basic python skills to the next level. The course will cover topics covering the whole analysis pipeline, including reading data, visualization, data manipulation, modeling, and machine learning. Suggested prerequisite is basic Python knowledge or ITSE 2079 Introduction to Python.
