You will learn how to harness the power of Excel's data analysis tools and AutoFilter commands and how to create macros that eliminate repetitive tasks. Set yourself apart from the casual Excel user by adding VLOOKUP, INDEX, and MATCH, and other intermediate functions to your professional skill set. In addition, you will learn to create macros that let you manipulate data with the push of a button. You'll also discover how to use Goal Seek and Solver and apply them to real-world problems. The HVAC program has been specially designed to deliver the skills you need in a short period of time so you can enter this high growth occupation quickly. Our hands-on program includes the following courses. The courses must be taken in the order listed below. This program is 216 total hours. Basic Electricity for HVAC - Principles of electricity as required by HVAC, including proper use of test equipment, electrical circuits, and component theory and operation. Refrigeration Principles - This is an introductory course to the HVAC industry. The course will give an introduction to the refrigeration cycle, heat transfer theory, temperature/pressure relationship, refrigerant handling, refrigeration components, and safety. EPA Recovery Certification Preparation - This certification training class focuses on recovery, recycle, and reclaim of HVAC refrigerant. Instruction includes a review of EPA guidelines for refrigerant recovery and recycling during the installation, service, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems. During the last day of this class, students will challenge the EPA Universal Examination.
This course introduces two important accents used for stage, film, television, and video games. In the Fall the offering is American Southern and Australian. Through Knight-Thompson Speechwork, a new standard-bearing approach to speech, students will acquire the skills to convincingly perform these accents. Areas of focus include developing the oral posture, learning how to create the unique pronunciations, and analyzing the “music” (rhythm, tempo, and intonation) of the accent. Studies include native speakers of these accents, and dialogue from stage and screen scripts will be utilized to apply the work. This course is for actors with and without speech training and for people who simply would enjoy learning two interesting accents.
