We will cover basic camera operation and controls: shutter speed, aperture, ISO etc. and familiarize ourselves with the technical and aesthetic process of taking photographs: composition, context, obvious and subtle themes, and subject. We will learn how to make simple and dynamic photographs with in-class projects and critiques to learn from each other. A point-and-shoot camera will work, but a camera with manual controls will give the best opportunity for learning how to get the desired results.
Examination of the various stages of the group work treatment process with emphasis on roles, tasks, and potential problem areas. Topics include mechanics of group function, structure of groups, communication patterns within groups, effective group facilitation skills, and techniques used to address special population issues and needs. People gravitate to technology to solve problems. Python is a programming language that lets you work quickly to solve these problems. If you are interested in learning Python, this is the class for you. We will emphasize learning the basics of programming using Python, so you can leverage the reference book to solve real-world issues on your own upon course completion. Suggested prerequisite: General computing knowledge and a desire to learn programming with Python.

Adding Static and Dynamic Cupping for Myofascial Release...
This 6 hour Continuing Education course will provide an in-depth look at the use of cupping as a myofascial release technique that can be incorporated in the practice of massage therapy. Demonstration and practice will be provided on the use of silicon and plastic cupping, dynamic vs. static cupping, technique, cup care and maintenance as well as how to talk to your clients about cupping for their therapeutic needs. A take home silicon set of 8 cups is included in the tuition. Students need to bring a set of massage sheets, lubricant and note taking supplies to class. Tables and cups will be provided.
