Learn to build interactive web elements using CSS transitions and JavaScript. This class provides hands- on experience triggering, timing, and animating the user interface. You'll learn the basics of CSS transitions and common jQuery functions to build standards-based interactive web interfaces. Suggested prerequisite: ITNW 1059 Introduction to WWW Authoring, HTML, and CSS or equivalent experience.
Fundamentals of mass production of apparel, focusing on the operation of industrial sewing and pressing equipment. Survey of materials selection and construction techniques used at all price levels of mass-produced apparel. Introduction to industry seam allowances. We will cover basic camera operation and controls: shutter speed, aperture, ISO etc. and familiarize ourselves with the technical and aesthetic process of taking photographs: composition, context, obvious and subtle themes, and subject. We will learn how to make simple and dynamic photographs with in-class projects and critiques to learn from each other. A point-and-shoot camera will work, but a camera with manual controls will give the best opportunity for learning how to get the desired results.
This course will provide an overview of irrigation systems appropriate for landscape and small farm usage. Topics include determining plant and landscape needs, selecting equipment and layout design, sizing components, water conservation, installation, and troubleshooting. Hands-on activities will take place when possible.
A study of anatomy and physiology with emphasis on human pathophysiology, including: etiology, prognosis, medical treatment, signs and symptoms of common diseases of all body systems.
This course is designed to help students identify and understand the benefits of weight training and how weight training affects the body. Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use. This course satisfies OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.151
